Have you ever struggled to find data to support your project planning needs? Are you unable to easily see how your projects and programs are performing? If so, it may be time for your company to consider establishing a project management information system.

Data is essential for program and project managers to effectively shepherd programs and projects through their respective life cycles. Armed with project and program data program and project managers will be empowered to plan for and manage to successful outcomes. In this Project Management Tools session, Peter Wilson will explore how the project management information system can aid your organization today and contribute to a management foundation that will drive future success.

In this session you will learn:

  • What a Project Management Information System is.
  • How the PMIS aligns with project management maturity.
  • How to approach PMIS architecture.
  • How PM technologies can be employed to deliver early results.

About the PM Tools Workshops

PM Tools is PMIWDC's workshop series that addresses the practical aspects of Project Management.

Both the PM Tools session and the monthly dinner meeting are worth 1 Professional Development Unit (PDU) each to certified PMPs. Continued certification as a PMP requires the accumulation of these valuable credits and we are pleased to offer this opportunity to obtain both the important training and the educational credit associated with it.
