2010 Knowledge Exchange Forum: a full day of presentations seminar by seasoned Project Managers in real life situations.

This event’s goal is to provide Project Managers and others in the domain or related discipline of project management in the Washington DC area the opportunity to learn from industry leaders and gain their experience through presentations, to help them develop their PM and managerial skills.

This course provides 7 PDUs.

What will you learn
The Forum is divided up into multiple categories with a distinguished speaker for each category. An extended question and answer session will provide ample opportunity to follow up with the speakers and get thier best practices and life lessons. You will learn the way of the PM from the actual people who have the life experience on the subject being presented.

Format
A One-hour presentation followed by a 15-minute questions and answers are allocated per topic. A 15-minute break between presentations after the Q&A will be provided which would allow the participants to network with their peers and/or the speaker.

About the Speakers

Joe Houser, Senior VP, KM Systems Group

Joe Houser has over 35 years experience of program and financial management experience in the commercial and the government sectors. He is Vice President of KM Systems Group and has been responsible for developing and conducting program management and earned value management training for over 15 years. His experience includes all phases of acquisition management, from strategic planning through implementation for IT programs. Joe is Vice President of Education & Certification of PMI College of Performance Management.

Prior to KM Management Group, Joe was a Deputy Program Manager with both SAIC and Lockheed Martin. Mr. Houser’s experience includes corporate level responsibilities for earned value management for IBM and Lockheed Martin and led several program performance process improvement initiatives. Joe has served as Risk Manager for several large scale programs. Joe’s experience with IBM and Lockheed Martin includes assignments developing and implementing schedule, cost, risk, and earned value management systems on large scale complex programs.

Mr. Houser is a founding member and past Chairman of the Board and President of the Performance Management Association (now PMI-CPM). He is a past member of the National Security Industrial Association (NSIA) procurement committee; served as a NSIA industry advisor to the Department of Defense Performance Measurement Joint Executive Group(PMJEG); and is past Chairman of the NSIA Subcommittee on Performance Management. He organized and led a joint DoD/Industry TQM study on the DoD cost/schedule management process. The eighteen-month study had 17 of the 18 recommendations implemented by the Department of Defense. The Honorable Donald J. Yockey, Under Secretary of Defense (A),referred to the study as a "model for future government/industry relations."

He has published several papers and is a speaker and lecturer on cost/schedule control and management. Professional Certifications: Lockheed Martin Qualified Program Management, IBM Process Re-Engineering Consultant Education: B.S. in Business Administration, University of Maryland.

Sheila Savar, CEO, The Savar Institute

Scott Amey, President and Chairman of the Board of Directors, Amyx, Inc.

Scott Amey is the President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Amyx, Inc. He also serves as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Amyx. Inc.

In 1993, Mr. Amey co-founded RS Information Systems, Inc. When Mr. Amey elected to leave RSIS in November, 2004, RSIS had grown to be the 40th largest IT and Engineering Services provider to the United States Government, with over 1,700 full time employees and approximately $320 Million in annual revenue. RSIS provides federal customers such as NASA, NOAA, the Department of Energy, the Department of Transportation, the Social Security Administration, the U. S. Air Force, and the Veterans Administration with professional services in the areas of Systems Engineering, Applications Development, Network Security, and Telecommunications.

Mr. Amey served as the Chief Operating Officer of the company, overseeing the successful execution of all contracts, the capture of new business opportunities, and the annual budgeting and financial management exercises of the company. Mr. Amey also led the company's Quality Management System, ISO, and Software Engineering Institute/Capability Maturity Model certifications.

In 2007, Mr. Amey was the recipient of the GWU Alumni Service Award for founding and establishing the School of Engineering and Applied Science Career Center. In 2008, he was once again recognized by GWU as a recipient of the 2008 Distinguished Alumni Achievement Award, the highest award given by the University.

Bill Morgan, PMP, Program Manager, SRA International

Bill Morgan is a Certified Project Manager (PMP) and Management Consultant, who focuses on building high-performance teams in fast-paced, complex government, commercial and international environments. He brings thirty+ years of diverse experience in leadership roles, including twenty years in project and program management and IT Operations, He is a recognized change agent and leader specializing in large program development, business continuity, contingency planning, crisis management, and exercise design/ control/ and evaluation.
